Insurance and Billing
Our practice accepts most insurance plans, but as today's insurance marketplace becomes increasingly complex we encourage all patients to contact their insurance carriers directly with any questions about coverage and benefits. Our billing staff are more than happy to assist you with questions as well. As many patients are now enrolled in high deductible health plans, we will do our best to help you estimate the out-of-pocket cost of any procedure you may require and are willing to work with you to establish payment arrangement to help make the cost of necessary care manageable.
Facilities and Equipment
Gastroenterology Associates resides in a 20,000 square foot building that houses a modern and beautiful office practice on the main floor, and a state-of-the art office based Endoscopy Suite on the lower floor. We have implemented the latest in Electronic Medical Record technology throughout the practice and endoscopy center, which allows us the most efficient methods of managing your health care records. In addition, the Endoscopy Suite utilizes the Olympus High Definition 180 Scopes, which improves the odds of detecting even the smallest polyps and abnormalities of the bowel.
All of our physicians are proficient in the use of the Pill Cam, which is the latest technology for diagnosis and detection of small bowel cancers and disorders. In addition, we have just implemented the use of CO2 for colonoscopies, which means that our patients experience less bloating and discomfort after their procedure because the CO2 is absorbed by the body and does not have to be expelled.
Our patient satisfaction scores have consistently been at 99.99% in our Endoscopy Center, and comments include appreciation for our professional and friendly staff, for the beauty and cleanliness of the facility, and for the convenience of being able to have their procedure at a cozy in-house facility rather than in a sterile hospital setting. In addition, we receive many “thanks” for the shorter wait time experienced at our center (1-2 hours). And, a very important aspect of office based endoscopy procedures is that many insurance companies gladly cover procedures performed at an office based facility because it greatly reduces expense to them, as well as to the patient.
